Where can I find the location of the bell crank support bracket, that gets welded onto the frame on a '64 Malibu? There are two 1/4 holes (about 3/4" apart) on the inside vertical of the frame, in that area, but I'm not sure what they are for.

Not sure on a 64, but on a 66 (and I think EVERY chevelle) that bracket attaches to the outside of the frame.
I had to locate mine too. I took threaded round bar, about a foot long) and screwed it into the hole in the block where the stud goes. Looked where it crossed the frame, held my bracket up to it, and scribed it.
