Alright guys, I know I've posted a topic like this before, and many other have posted similar topics, but I just wanted to get some fresh input on the subject.
After months of working on the car, (or lack thereof
), we have finally finished it!! She looks great, and I'll post some pics up soon.
We've got the engine in, and last night we tested the electrical system and everything works perfectly. We took out the thermostat, and we are only going to run pure water through the cooling system when we start it for the first time. We're also going to prime the oil system.
Question: Is the G.M. E.O.S. really necessary?? What does it do exactly?
We've also bolted up the torque converter, becaues I've heard that leaving it unbolted could cause problems if the flywheel were to catch on the torque converter or something. I heard this is only necessary if it's a new tranny.
We've bled the brakes, filled all the fluids, and I think we are ready to go. I know a lot of you guys have done many engine rebuilds and swaps over the years, so I'd like to know what else you guys do (or forgot to do!!) as precautionary measures for starting your engine the first time. All help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks again Team Chevelle for help in another sucessful (well hopefully sucessful
) engine rebuild!!!
