I was at a friends working on his stock car this afternoon, his property overlooks I-75, mile marker 416 area. The northbound tourists were pulled over 2,3 at a time, all afternoon. There have been a few fatal crashes lately and FHP is cracking down on stupid. The only area I've seen this bad is southbound I-77 between Statesville and Mooresvlle in N.C. , that is just a scam 55m.p.h. zone. Be careful out there.

Entering Las Vegas from the south one Thanksgiving, a state trooper had 31 cars pulled over---made the news the next day.

He was parked in the median with his headlights pointing at 2 very large 55MPH signs.

Apparently no one slowed down from the 75-80 that is the norm on I-15 outside of the city.

On the local new the next night (T-Giving day), he stated that if even one person would have shown brake lights as they passed by----the whole lot would have gotten away with it.

That city is pretty serious on special weekends and holidays.

For the most part---you are not even bothered with---until you change lanes.

Marshall,

You also have the famous Rte. 301 Baldwin, Starke and Waldo are some of the top speed trap areas in the country!!
We travel that road when we visit my wife's family in Springhill. I am always on my toes and watch those speed limit signs, usually I'm 5 under whatever the current speed limit is posted!!!

Heading home last Nov from the Turkey Rod run, I got a ticket on Hwy 40 by the FL State Patrol.
I had just pulled out around a slow poke to pass and was in Warp drive...looked over to my left and there he sat.
I simply pulled off to the side and waited for him to catch up.
A very nice officer...suggested I take the online Safe Driver's course that FL offers to keep the points off my GA license.

Actually, the officer did me a favor by ticketing me. :D

The ticket cost me $125
The online driver's course cost $30

But, by submitting the course completion certificate to Geico, I get a 10% discount on my auto insurance premiums for the next THREE years.
A savings of over $120 per year.

i've always wondered to myself how a trooper can pull more than one vehicle over at a time and how they get addressed, i've seen 2 cars pulled over at once and never figured out how they do that. Also, it would seem that it would be easy to run if there's more than one car in the the lineup since the officer would have to prioritize wether to write the ticket or take on the chase.

He yells over the loud speaker for that car to follow him after he has the guys license number down. Of course the guy is not going to go at warp speed to stay with thew cop but down the road they usually pull over behind the cop with the other car stopped ahead. DON'T ask me how I know this.
More cars than 2 there must be some kind of trick.

California HY patrol would pull two or three over in the early 50's. My boyhood friends, father was a Riverside Calif. patrolman, motorcycle. He has also had stoped two cars. Have you ever been stopped for drag racing. They usully pull both cars over. Yes has happend to me.

Back in the 60s, was street racing a guy...me in a 62 Impala with a 283, 2 barrel carb and headers......him in a 63 Impala with a 327, 4 barrel, no headers..........police pulled me over first, took my license, told me not to move..then radioed ahead and had other guy pulled over, brought back, gave each of us a ticket, made me walk over and look at the other guys engine, and in his finest smart a $$ voice said...son, what were you thinking..... you could have raced him all day long, and you would have still lost.........the ticket i deserved for racing on the street....but the lecture seemed like cruel and uncalled for punishment. Course he was right...but that didn't help my feelings any.......But that's one way to have 2 pulled over........no license, i ain't going nowhere...........
