Right now Im running champion RS14YC6, normally just listed as 13's. I was told the a/c delco equivalent was a R44LTS. I want to go one step colder, but they don't offer a R43LTS, so I have to go to the R42 if I want to step down. How much of a change will this be? I've never changed the heat range on plugs before so I don't know how it effects everything.

I'm running r42lts, no problems so far 1k miles.
But I have 10.9 CR.
I'd swear there are 43's though from when I was researching on the net.

Im only running 9.4:1 compression, but the cam is the puny stocker and dosen't bleed off any cylinder pressure. Combine that with 3.07 rears and a pickup truck and I have detonation under heavy load/lower rpm. I guess I'll give em a try and see what happens. Is there a way to tell if I went too cold?

There's no problem with a colder plug if you run an MSD or equivalent. I used to clear fouled plugs with a quick shot or two of NOS while in neutral. This was before I had an MSD. The NOS didn't like the hotter plugs. ;)
