I seriously doubt it.
Aren't they are smaller than the 68-72 models ?

I just measured my 69 sw and the opening is about 48-49" just above the gate.
So I'm sure it would have to sit on top of the fender covers.
It would be tight. The moulding on the inside edge makes it about a 48" opening.

Thanks for the responses. I have been thinking about picking up a 64-65 Wagon in a few years to use as a family car instead of an SUV. I was hoping you could carry plywood in it.

Thanks again,

That indeed is the real litmus test. If it cannot carry a 4x8 sheet of sheetrock or plywood what the hell good is it? Easy to say for me I just bought a new daily driver '05 Toyota 4 Runner. It wont carry plywood but I can get a 12 bolt in there if need be or an engine using the Cherry Picker crane so I am at least covered for projects I want to do. Bette be a clean 12 bolt or a clean motor at least for a few years to come anyway.

If Mrs Oman wants the SUV to carry stuff for "her" project (ya know those types...the ones she wants that I actually get to do......then there might be some flack in the air.

SURE, front to rear= second seat up is approx.54" from tailgate; second seat down is approx.84"; side to side= at the doors is approx. 58", at the rear side windows is approx 60" and at the tubs is approx. 44". Top to cargo floor is approx. 30". Hope this helps. Go with the '68 to '72, way more inexpensive parts to "get er done".
