Hooker lists some 1 3/4 by 3 super competition that are specifically listed to fit angle plug heads. I used a set for a corvette that fit perfectly

 

ouch, those dynatechs are $$650. off. I'm too poor for that. or too cheap.

 

Hookers are too big. Maybe I'll hack up a set of 1&5/8 I've already got.

 

They may list some 1 5/8 units. Ill look

 

I think the 1 3/4” headers may fit better than the smaller headers. We had several sets of chevelle headers fit with the 292 Chevy heads. Now the 210 May have a raised port that throws everything off.

 

If I am not mistaken, I seem to remember people using Spark Plugs from Chain Saws, because they are very short.

 

I ran into the same issue with new AFR210's. Had Hedman 1 3/4" headers that wouldn't clear #3 plug and these headers are for angle plugs. I went with Sanderson C12 headers. Clearance is great, easy access to all plugs. I do have to re-route the plug wires but that's minor. If you tell them what heads your using they can build to suit. At least they did with mine. Very nice headers too. They literally fall into place.

 

The Dynatech stepped 1-3/4 to 1-7/8 fit perfect on the 383 w the profiler heads. Installed with ease too. With the Performer Rpm heads no good with the spark plugs. For the Performer RPM heads the 1-5/8 Hedman Elite HTC fit great except for #4 spark plug. It also sucks having to jack up the drivers side motor to install that header.

The Dynatech headers are made great! But yeah they are pricey, but so are the Hedmans....

 

Trying to find the brand and part number of what I used on my 71. Fit great with Trick Flow angle plugs but if memory serves they weren't low cost at all. Also some driver's side interference around the lower a-arm mount (not bad, I ground the mount a bit).

AFR 220 Comps, angle plugs.

 

I have hooker 2116 on my afr210 angle plugs heads,in my 64 camino and they fit no problems at all!!
Plugs are a breeze to change.

I have had angle plug heads on three different engines between the Chevelle and my Camaro race car. All have had Hooker headers and there has never been a problem with plugs.

 

My 1 3/4 hooker supercomps fit fine with the angle plug afr 210s. My only gripe is I have to get the #7 plug from under the car.

I'd guess it wouldn't be too bad to be a little on the big side.

 

Yup, 5 and 7 sux but through the years I've gotten better at changing them on my Nova.

 

I ran headman on angle plug heads for years. Accell shorty plugs with angle plug wire boots. Have to change most with a wrench but all are easy enough to get to from the top. Headman's clear all accessories.

 

Thanks guys. I found a set of headers I already had that appear similar to theangle plug heqaders being sold. I'm going to bolt the on the heads and see how they look.
