I removed the vinle top on my 71 chevelle to find at the bottom corners on both sides of the rear window rust holes that protrude into the window channel does anyone offer patch panels for this or will I have to fab somthing up? what gauge sheet metal should I use for this thanks

It's a son-of-a-gun to fab up the compound curves that are at the base of the rear corners. We tried, but I ended up using donor metal instead. No replacement patch pieces are produced at this point...

I believe Rick (professor SS) did a fab job and from his photos, they turned out pretty well.

Thanks Dittoz. yea I've done 4 of them now. Check out my 70 project in my signature for some pics. It is a project the first time, but if you take your time it is not to bad. If I could get with someone in the foundry business I'd design some molds and start producing these. Fire me some questions if you get stuck.

Heck Rick all you need is a metal shrinker and strecher, can be bought from eastwoods, but Id rather buy from

you and 70is fine are concentrating on just the channel which is a relatively simple part of the area in question. I make that part without a shrinker/stretcher by making it with two separate pieces of metal. The shrinker stretcher you mention can not be used to fabricate the compound curve of the body above the actual window channel.

Eastwoods has a cheap one if you dare to venture

I like to use a beater bag and mallets to obtain the rough shape I need. I build them out of three different pieces of metal. I'd love to get my hands on an English wheel, but I'm broke. Just spent my tax refund and then some fixing my septic system. Then today I discover that the passenger side rear door on the wife's suburban was been hit by someone, big time. Will need a skin minim.
