the turning off thing is caused by too high of an idle,,from either too much timing or carb not adjusted ....shut it off in drive,,, when i run really high compression and a lumpy cam i cant idle less than 1100 rpm. This creates a situation of run on,,,,so i use a solenoid to set the idle against,,and when the power is shot off the solenoid drops out, slams the throttle shut and the car dies instantly.
