I am going to replace my dash bezel but in order to change it I need to remove the headlight knob and shaft. I am not sure how to go about that? Any suggestions to remove those and any other items that would be in the way to replace the bezel?

The switch is attached to the bezel with a spanner nut (at least that's what I think they're called). It's just a round nut with a notch cut across the face. I've used a needle nose pliers to remove them. Spread the jaws so the tips go into the slots, and back off the nut. But FIRST you must remove the knob. If I remember right, there is a spring loaded catch (button) on the switch body that you depress to release the knob and shaft ... It'll pull right out. You have to reach up under the dash to press it.

Wade is correct about the spanner nut and knob/shaft removal. But I would wait until you get the whole dash bezel out of the car before trying to remove those things to install on your new bezel. One other thing to do - replace all your dash light bulbs while you have it out! A royal  PITA otherwise. Dash light sockets are really cheap and poorly designed on these cars :(
