Hello fellas, my sway bar seems to be warn pretty bad at the bushings; pitting, wear, not really round... What do you guys suggest that I do? I'm tight on cuz i just bought a front end kit from PST, so should i go with it? Will it just ruin my new polygraphite bushings if i do? I mean, i know that the sway bar doesnt really rotate all that much, maybe 30 degrees at most. Maybe I can find a replacement in the junkyard? If so, what newer cars make good doners? Another thing is that where the bshings were the frame seems to be eroding away, there is a big indention in it and VERY rusty. i scraped it and slpped some epoxy in there (because i am poor, not stupid), is this a relatively normal thing? phew... long post. Thanks guys!

As your thinking, you'll kill the new bushings.

I beleive that the sway bars from 90s Caprices will fit but I'm not 100% certain. If they do, there's a bunch available from police and taxi's. The reason I think they'll fit is because I put a new sway bar for my 68 Chevelle on my 86 full size Pontiac and it fit fine and the 86 Pontiac and the 90s Caprices have the same frame. I've since gotten rid of the Pontiac, and I saved the bar, which I plan to install on one of my 94 9C1 Caprices.

If you decide to go new, call Summit for a price on a Helwig 1-5/16" bar, they really make the car handle, but last tiem I checked they were about $140.

I put a 1-5/16" bar from a '71 Camaro on my '72 Chevelle, and it fit fine and works great with my rear 1" ADDCO bar. It seems like a real tight fit, and you might have to spin the clamps on your tie rod sleeves to give it clearance, but it'll work. I double checked this with PST (I bought the front end kit from them), and they said it was fine.

careful about this, I put a 70-81 camaro style bar on my 70 Chevelle, it hit the tie rod on the left, regardless of how I turned the clamps. I didn't notice it for awhile, it actually wore a flat spot on the tie rods. I eventually bought a set of end links with 1/2" longer bolts and sleeves, fixed the problem.
