This is the type tool my neighbor uses to cut the butyl adhesive. He's a retired body guy.

He will start out by putting the car in the sun, applying black trash bags to the window with water and squeegee. Letting the heat soften the butyl. Same way to soften and remove tint.

just note even with care and going slow, sometimes the window will crack. Just something to be aware of.
