Hi all,

I have been looking for a 12 bolt rear end for a while now.

I have found a shortened housing that was replaced with a pure beefy drag rear-end. The axles, housing, and brackets are the only thing there. He is wanting only 50 dollars for it.

Could somebody help/explain to me what else I am going to need and possible prices on it?

Ideally, I would like to throw in posi 3.73, but would be ok with posi 3.56's.
It is shortened to the point that a 15in wide tire fits nicely in the tire well.

Thanks for all your help.

Added: I have no welding experience whatsoever.

How much has it been shortened? Are the brackets for the lower control arms & shocks still on the axle tubes? Spring perches still present? Does it have a yolk? Does it have the carrier main caps? If it dosen't you are gonig to have to get caps then have them machined correctly to the housing. Your brake backing plates from the current rear will bolt right on (if everything is chevy) Here are some id #'s to verify that it is a chevy & not an olds:

There are a couple of great guys here like Big Gear Head & Tlowe that can get you some prices for parts that you are gonna need. Good luck. B.
