If wiggled by hand, how much motion/slack would be in the z-bar with a properly adjusted clutch pedal. 1/8", 1/4" of movement??

There should be between 1"-1.5" of free play at the pedal. Some guys adjust it for less, but I have found this to work just fine.

Was trying to get a feel for the amount of movement at the actual z bar--pedal seems right.

theres no exact measurement, but in the AREA of figures you mentioned sounds about right.
I have been messing with my clutch linkage lately and the measurements you mentioned are about right by the feel of the play at the clutch fork. I think more than 1/4 and you can maybe have a problem of the linkage falling away from the fork at some time

thanks..thinkn im gonna tweak the movement a little less. The clutch may grab/release a little low to the floor right now.
