ok guys you that seen the video know that for various reasons ( i thought i had done it the first time ) my carb is dumping fuel over time making it hard to start warm and taking forever to clean out. I feel i have idle circuit problems and raw fuel dumping after shutdown.
K today it finally quit raining and i was going on another pass and the engine never cleared out. kinda sucked as there was a crowd but you know i am worried about my baby. So i backed her in the shop to start what i was going to do tomorrow anyway -pull plugs check compression, change oil to Royal Purple synthetic, check lash, drop the header and grind the control arm some more ect. I ordered some King demon gaskets and the jets to drop it down square 1 from stock.
WHen i got the plugs out good god where they gas fouled. At first i was relieved this is why she's missing and i know the culprit then i got to number 4 and it was not as dry as the others it was a little wet. No of coarse it hasnt been driven long enough to gather oil deposits like a oiling cylinder will. What i was wondering is too fold.
If the intake valve was open on that cylinder could it just have gotten some raw gas making it appear wet. It all smells like gas at this point ect.
If it was oil could it have happened during the oiling of the cylinders for assembly ect and just not burned off?
If it is oil is it to early to worry since the rings may seat better and/or maybe it oiled on initial start up?
dont tell me what i want to hear just what your experiance is. Ill check compression in the morning WHY DID IT HAVE TO BE THE NIGHTMARE CYLINDER.
Thanks for any opinions for i am in semi-panic mode.
I was able to whipe most of the wet blackness off with a shop rag is that good or bad?
