I've replace many SBC in thepast but i alway end up making a mess with Coolant and tranny fluid. I drain the fluids but there is alway more in the system. I usually start to spill fluids then the engine and transmission is aboutto come out and sitting there at an angle from the engine hoist. I know that there are drain plug on the bottom side of the block but they are so hard to get to. I already stripped the head on the drain plug on the drivers side. Any suggestions anyone?
Pull an engine without making a mess?

Charbilly, I agree. No matter how much you try not to, you're gonna spill something.
Harbor Freight has big blue tarps for a lot less than Home Depot's, too.
