Hi guys. Small question here. I was just wondering what tools you would recommend for smoothing/sanding/cleaning the floor panels and trunk. I fugure there is going to be some scuzz on the metal underneath the carpet that I'll want to clean off. Well, not just htat but anywhere that I see surface rust and scuzz. Not to mention clean it up to see if Ill need to repleace the florboards.

I have an air compressor at my disposal, so if there are any air driven tools that would make this easier, that is an option I have.

Also, I am considering doing a poor man's frame off. Are there any special wrenches Ill need to use to pull the body off the frame?

Thanks in advance
Ed

I would use an air grinder with a mildly abrasive wheel. taking the body off the frame isn't bad, however, you might have to cut some holes in the floor, and the trunk. There are some cheesy welded squares of metal that the bolts attach to inside the body itself, if the welds holding them to the body breaks, which they probably will, you will have to cut a small access hole to get at it. pain in the butt. good luck!!

Well I meant poor mans frame off as in I wont be throwing it on to a rotissery (although I really want to; Im sure that it makes work easier. LoL I guess people wouldnt buy those things if they didt save your back!! ;) ). I remember seeing a member on here that lifted the body off the frame and hung it from his garage ceiling to do all the work. Ill have to ask my uncle what his garage roof will support. If not then I think I remember seeing the same member had it up on blocjks too.

I dont have my car yet, I just figured the sooner I start planning all the tools and materials that I'll need to work with, the easier it will be for me to just jump in and start ripping the car apart when I do get her.

Thanks for the suggestions guys!
