I installed a used alternator into my 71 with a 355. I got the used alternator from a guy who has two 71's and he said it came off of a small block A/C car. I put it in and now the tach flutters. When i turn the lights on the rpms go up a little and keep fluttering. It won't flutter when I give it gas.
What is going on here? Bad ground somewhere?
I am changing the alt since the lights dim when I idle and get brighter with gas. Is this the Alternator or maybe the voltage regulator?
