which part of the shifter? i put a TH 350 in my '65 that had a pg. i had to cut the linkage in half and use part of the pg linkage and part of the TH350 linkage. I am talking about the part that pivots on the frame and and actuates the linkage on the side of the trans. i had to cut and re-weld it about 3 times to get it to work right where i could get all gears and still have it clear where the column shifter (might be a different deal with a floor shifter) rod attaches. the first 2 attempts the rod would hit the header before i got all the gears. works great now. been in the car for 22 years now. won't matter soon, when i put in the TKO.
