I had Flowmaster 40 series on my 9:1 BB, with a 2.5" dual with H, dumping downward at the bumper. It just wasn't impressive enough sound level (loudness), I actually put washers under my triangle caps to let a little sound out there.
I switched to Pypes Violators based on their web hype. They sound cool at idle and are loud enough in general, but at more open throttle, I think they sound raspy or ratty. It's a high frequency popping, not like a big block rumble at all.
I am not concerned about ultimate horsepower, I just want something loud and deep sounding without the pop. What about the FM Super 44s? Are they significantly louder than 40's? Any other ideas?
