My 19 year old Nephew was in a serious motorcycle accident yesterday when a truck pulled out in front of him. He has serious spinal injuries as well as lung damage and some other internal injuries. They are still trying to get him stable enough to check him over to see what surgeries are going to be best.
The neurologist told my sister that it is highly improbable that Josh will walk again.
I believe in the power of prayer and just wanted to ask you guys to say a prayer for him.
We are heading back down to St. Louis to be with the Family now. He is in Barnes Jewish which is one of the best hospitals in the area.
That was a tough night last night....

Thank you guys for all the prayers! His name is Josh Ketsenburg.
We just got the results of the catscan and MRI this morning. His neck and back are in really bad shape and his spinal cord is severed. He is going into surgery tomorrow at noon. The Doctors are saying that this will be a 6-8 hour surgery and is VERY serious. He also has a broken shoulder, collar bone, clavicles, broken hand, broken arm and numerous other injuries. He has gone from not breathing on his own at all to breathing 20% the first night to 60% today. The Doctors would like him to be at 80% by the surgery.
He is a very tough kid and he is in great physical condition. He is fighting as hard as he can.
When I went into his room to see him last night his girlfriend told him that his Uncle Brent was there. He started moving his arms and trying to open his eyes. I know that he can hear us and knows what is going on.
At this point all we can do is continue to pray for a miracle and believe that it can happen.
If you guys can put him on all of your prayer lists that would be great.
Again, his name is Josh Ketsenburg.
Thank you guys for the prayers and concern.... It's a really tough time for our family. You all are a great bunch of people.

Just an update. Surgery was put off for a week because Josh was not stable enough to make it through the surgery. They did surgery last friday (2 days ago) and fused T3-T-9 of his spine. The doctors are saying he will not walk again in their opinion but, they added that they are not god and that we should not give up hope which we are not.
Just wanted to Thank everyone for the prayers and ask that you continue if you would.
Thank you,
Brent

When my brother was 16 he broke his neck and was paralyzed from the neck down, His doctors gave him a less than 20% chance of ever walking again. That was 20yrs ago,and I'll have you know he has a limp, but he walks none the less. He lives a normal life has 2 step kids and one of his own, wife etc. Like the doctors said they're not GOD,through GOD all things are possible. My prayers go out to your family.
