Hello I started another thread about my Morel roller lifter eating my cam, I now have to figure out what I'm gonna do for a new cam and lifters. I believe I'm gonna go to a solid roller, I just do not know what to go with. The engine made 576hp at 6200 and 545ftlbs at 5000 with a HYD roller (242 248 602 602 107 117). I asked for a nice streetable cam when this was put together last spring and was very happy with it, since then I have gotten much more interested in racing and streetability isnt nearly as important. Is there a much better cam than what I had? My only requirements are I really do not want to spin this thing any harder than 6500, and get as much HP as I can out of it. Here are my specs:

1970 chevelle
468 10.25 to 1
Mahle 28cc forged pistons
Forged GM crank
Scat I beam rods
All ARP hardware
320cc Patriot heads
Victor JR intake
Holley 950HP

4 speed
2.88 first gear

12bolt 4.11's
28" M/T

Now...if you want to spin it up a little and throw some more gear in it and really use that single plane and big heads.....we can really have some fun!

It looks uncertain which Morel was used...

I just dug thru my reciepts and the only thing I can come up with is the part number 5374.

Getting back to the failed hyd roller lifter. Any more in depth detail? Hyd roller lifter failures are very rare. Did you make sure and get all the assembly lube out of the roller prior to install?

I did'nt really wanna go in detail untill Morel makes a verdict.

How much spring pressure both seat and open?

The springs were the comp 939-16. The machine shop I deal with put the heads together, I got them as a bare casting and put all comp parts in and ferrea 6000 series valves in them. Do you have a number I can call you at Chris? PM me. Thanks

5374 are the STREET Series.
