OK, I will answer a question before you ask it.......... Yes, LEAVE the bird poop on it and drive it that way

Nice score

Is that all there was to the car (pictures) or are there many parts not shown such as engine/interior/doors?

Is the paint original. Looks like its the factory gold color. That's a sharp color when finished.

The whole property looks abandoned. What's the story?

He said it took 7 trips to get everything home, so it sounds like he ended up with a complete car and some extra's, or what is shown in the pictures and goodies for different projects......... or he was bringing it home in a Smart Car :D

I'd like to hear the story too..... many of our projects are all the same.... buy car, take parts off, clean / refurb parts, put parts back on, etc.

But the story of HOW we got our cars are as different as each one of us

The most recent owner bought the car probably twenty years ago and parked it next to his barn. Sometime in the last fifteen years, I noticed it was no longer next to the barn. Eight years ago, he passed away. Six months ago, his wife advertised another of his projects for sale. I asked her about the Chevelle. She said her son got the Chevelle. Three months ago, he put the Chevelle up for sale. The photos posted are as I found the car, in a pole barn/shop on the farm. Many parts in the interior and trunk. Other parts were found in other barns/sheds. He had some trim stored in the attic.

I'm still sorting through parts. It appears many of the parts are here; some are missing. Some parts I don't recognize as being Chevelle. I'll probably be posting photos to ask for help identifying.

When he bought the car, the original engine and transmission had already been taken. I got the transmission you see in the trunk, and no engine.

Yes, it's Olympic Gold, with black interior. As of right now, I intend to keep that color combination with factory SS wheels.

The floors and trunk are very solid. Doors are good. Other than a little rust behind wheel on one fender, both fenders are good. Hood and trunk lid are both in good shape. The quarters are pretty rusty, but the car came with a pair of GM NOS full quarter panels.

Thanks for filling in the story. Hopefully we can help you identify some parts. Good luck on the resto.
