Rich-L79, Wally on another forum section suggested I try my luck here. I have a muncie 4 speed with a number stamped on the case 7S119369.
Wally said it was a vin. any way to tell what this trans came out of?
the other numbers have made it a M-21 from May/67

S is for St. Louis, so I would guess full size Chevrolet or Corvette. I would need to do some more research to determine which. I'll do so this evening unless someone else chimes in first.

could also be that it is not an "s" and maybe a Z which would be a Fremont, CA 67 Chevelle,,,though I'd be inclined to say Bruce is correct.

If it is out of a Corvette, it would be out of a late May 1967 build date car (3rd or 4th week). Transmission should also be stamped P7Exx (or very close to it) where the x's ar the day of the month it was assembled. Corvette production for May of 1967 was (19437 base coupe or 19467 base conv) 7S117396 through 7S119747.
