Ok, part 2, maybe 3...not sure. I found out that the hurst shifter is what is moving around on the tail shaft. This caused the darned thing to not go into gear sometimes because the linkages were set for the shifter being in 1 position, not many.
Here is my problem. When I put the shifter on the tranny, it was out of the car. I need to tighten up the bolts, but don't seem to be able to get to all the bolts. Oh, the upper most bolt is broke out on the tail shaft. I knew this before but used it anyway.
Would I be better off tightening the best I can and live with it, or pull the tranny and replace the tail shaft....I think I know the answer, but....
