Only one example, but I ran the comp xe262 cam for a few years. Used mobil 1 the whole time. Last year at about 50k miles on the motor the cam had several lobes go flat. No recent changes to the motor.. just driving one day and the engine started popping and oil pressure started dropping. (from the metal going through the bearings). I loved how the mobil 1 kept a very steady oil pressure regardless of temperature, but can't bring myself to use it with a flat tappet motor now.
