Collectively. there are a few things that would be needed to be changed to make an LS5 car an LS6. 6000 rpm tach, single 3/8" fuel line with no return (Holley Equiped cars only) also, single 3/8" connection at fuel sending unit. As stated - no AC. Pretty sure LS6 cars got the F41 suspension with boxed rear lower arms and rear sway bar.

All 1970 Chevelle Super Sports,L-34,LS-5,L-78,LS-6,came with the F-41 suspension as standard. It was not specific to the engine ordered.
To add to what others have stated, there also was a time frame for the production of the LS-6 Chevelle,vs. Non LS-6 Chevelles.

Several people have mentioned the tach redline, and that's true - if - it was equipped with the optional tach. They were NOT standard equipment.

I do not want to start anything. I have an LS-5 M22 El Camino. That I ordered. I ordered an LS6, This was N/A with air. So I went for the LS 5. I also wanted F-41 suspension N/A on El Caminos. ALL 68-72 El Caminos had factory air shocks. G.M. never built a 68-72 El Camino with F-41 suspension. I had a Sway bar and arms installed in June 1970 at Sahli Chevrolet, Beaver Falls Penna. And it cost almost $75.00 for parts and labor. More trivia, Caminos and A body Boo wagons have full time power steering like a MOPAR. If you check the numbers you will find Caminos and wagons have a different steering box. With a sway bar on the back of my Camino, The suspension balance is BAD. Feels like front tires are low on air, Rear way to stiff, Driving over a tar strip on the road is like driving over a 4X4. But I thought I was smarter than G.M. was 36 years ago. My driver I changed all 4 corners of the suspension. Handles and rides just super. My 2 cents. Bob ACES 2825
