I know this has been addressed on here several times, but I was looking for a keyed 12v source for the MSD 6AL and came across a brown wire (16g or so) that has power when the key is 'ON'. I'm 99% certain that this wire went to the external voltage regulator, which is long gone after an alt. swap. Will this wire be ok to use as a keyed source for the MSD?
Also, I'm planning on wiring several relays into the system for the headlights and fuel pump. Do you guys run dedicated keyed 12v wires for each componet or relay? I was considering using a junction block to connect everything that I need a keyed source for, does that sound like a good idea? As you can probably tell, I'm no expert in electrical system's so any help would be greatly appreciated! Car is a '70 Chevelle btw.
