Just a shout out. Jake finished 2nd at Drag Week. Rain came early and lost the last few runs needed to seal the deal but he had fun. For all those interested in his valve train he made no changes all week. He has close to 4000 street miles and still run 10 teens with the exhaust on. Car weight was just over 3700lbs. Great job Jake..

Had a blast Tom...........also logged the lowest ET for the class for the week, and the only SB/NA car to go quicker, from what I am told is McConnells Malibu. Tom.......engine performed flawlessly. I had a blast. This is a must for all you "Street Car" Guys.......

Here is my Photobucket Album with some of the pics of the week. :)

Nice job Jake! I loved the pictures! I think that is pretty cool, you pulling the trailer instead of being pulled by one. My only problem is that not everywhere they would stop would sell E85 or I would definitely do a drag week! :beers:

Thanks guys..........Guys were running E85 this year and were lucky enough to find it. But that doesn't mean you will find it next year.....

I actually ran 91 most of the week, but was forced into some 89 in TX. (Sorry Tom).

Drag Week is a "True Test" for both the car and the person. We were up and moving from 530am until at least 1200am everyday. Wilson and I had a chassis/carb thrash at 1200am in a parking lot in Tulsa, and then took it out for a beat run on the back roads.

If you are looking for fun............Drag Week is where its at!!!

What was really cool.........is it was a full weight Chevelle(A-body) in a class with 1 Nova, 1 Vette, 1 Maverick and the rest were Fox's.......

Thanks John........I am excited to get the old girl sitting next to RedBull!!! On a side note, can you email me the pics that you took with your phone? Thanks.

great job Jake!! That is a true test and you came out at the top!! love those '67's....:D

Psst.......mine has a 66 emblem on the front because I liked that one better when I put the new grille on it. Probably going to put the correct Malibu emblem on it this winter.

geez I just saw that...what a mistake....that's probably slowing you down at least a tenth....;)

Outstanding Jake,
Well deserved congratulations to both you & Tom,,, & of course kudos John & all the folks that pitched in to help you with the "little stuff"
Beautiful ride too,,, :beers:

Thanks Mike........

I'll have lots of stories for you guys at PRI. I drove up an off ramp in Texas, ran over my phone. Spent half my food money at a strip club.......Wilson and I finished half a bottle of tequila in about 45 minutes. And numerous other Jug-headed things. We could pick on me for several weeks........

But.........I had a blast.....and all I can do now is :boring:

I saw that car in Amarillo on wednesday. Both my budy and I thought it some of the nicest paint and bodywork of all the cars there, really straight. And, I do paint and body for a hobby. I thought e-85 was available in Amarillo, since a guy here told me they have it at a Stripes up in Lubbock. Nothing here in Midland. I wish I could talk my boys into doing the dragweek deal next year. Looked like a challenge, and a lot of fun.

Congrats Jake

Congrats are due, to a grueling week! :beers:
Maybe we should team up next year for SB/BB NA!!
