Sorry guys I just had to take a second to share my excitement.. I was reluctantly dragged into being one of my sons football teams coaches this year, it's a LOT of time (5 days a week) and takes a lot of patients, but last Sunday it was all worth it..
Although we didn't win the game, my son had his best game ever.. We ended up pulling him from his position at gaurd to the playside tight end because the d- ends have been killing us all season..Our ends just couldn't seem to handle them..
Well, Eric stepped up big time and did a great job for us, we were able to run off tackle all day long.. And even though he just made ball handling weight on Sat, they even threw him the ball and he actually made the catch.. Now keep in mind he has never practiced as a receiver, nor has he ever touched the football because he was over the handling weight.. Until this weekend he has always been on the offensive line..
Aside from that he also plays inside linebacker, and recovered 2 fumbles, made a BUNCH of tackles and played hard on EVERY play of the game, he never once stepped off the field....
Sorry to gloat, but sometimes all the hard work becomes worth it and things start to come together..
