Wow, can't believe it. Looks like the front of this fel pro one piece gasket is out of place where pan meets timing cover. Should be flush with the front of the pan, correct? As you can imagine I have a leak. Just put the engine back in after replacing rear main seal/etc. Don't even know how it got like that as IIRC there are little tits that stick out of the gasket and go into the timing cover. Can't explain how I didn't notice during pan install. Think it is as simple as loosening the pan and reposition the gasket?

Yeah, I have sealant on the corners. But looks like I won't have to disturb the corners. Guess I relied on those tits to hold in place. Must not have checked it afterwards as it is pretty eveident. Live and learn.

Dry as a bone. No leaks. This officially concludes (as far as I know) getting the bugs out from my winter project. I removed engine and changed rear main seal and pan gasket (obviously) changed rear seal on M21/changed front yoke on driveshaft(causing rear leak on M21)new universal joints on driveshaft/painted engine/new(to me)3 row Harrison radiator/new 1 & 3/4 coated headers/and new 2 & 1/2 inch stainless Magnaflow exhaust from headers to tailpipes. Took her out for about a ten mile drive. Seems to be running real good. New exhaust sounds wicked when you get into the gas!!!!
