Just put together a 350 engine with Performer RPM heads and Magnum 280H cam using comp cams lifters. To make a long story short (see below for long story), it runs like hell and I noticed that the no6 intake rocker arm needs to be tightened down a lot more than the others to get it to stop ticking and even then it still wobbles. The pushrod and rocker look ok but it's rather easy to push in the lifter. The others lifters it is real hard to push in. Is this a bad lifter? What could cause this? Anyone who's ever had a bad lifter, what kind of symptoms did the engine exhibit?
The rockers move up and down just like the others, so I don't think I wiped a lobe.

The engine runs like it has a miss (kind of chugs) and wants to die when I put it in gear. Gets worse when I tighten down the no6 rocker (to get rid of the clatter). In my effort to get rid of rocker clattering, could I be tightening it down too much and leaving the valve open? Would this account for running rough and dieing when I put it in gear?
Engine is stock short block with flat tops. 64cc RPM heads. Carter 600 cfm carb. TCI 2400 rpm converter. Timing is about 34-36 at 4000 rpm. Stock HEI

Thanks in advance.

Sounds pretty much like what happened to me about a year ago, turns out the cam and the lifter were junk. You might want to look at the lifter before running too much more.
