I found a 454 block that looks to be in great shape. Mortec lists it thusly:
14015445...454.......78-90...2 or 4 bolt
This block looks to have the casting number 14015446 so either it is misshapen or Mortec has a typo. Anyway, it is also marked "PASS - PERF". The block is very clean and will probably clean up and NOT need to be bored. I should be able to rering, hone and go.
I just wanted to confirm: this IS a Mark IV block, right? Considering engines in these years would likely be used in a truck I'm shocked at the lack of wear. Are these blocks high nickel content (which could help explain the low wear)? It does have a fuel pump boss and a clutch cross shaft stud boss.
TIA.
