I have a question and can’t find the answer online. I recently rebuilt my 283 sbc and Im just about ready to install the distributor. My question is do i install it when the piston is at TDC and harmonic balance lines up at 0? Or should it be installed a few degrees before TDC like when it’s running? I had it set at about 10 degrees before TDC before pulling the engine. I want the engine to start up good for the initial break in and don’t want to adjust the distributor to get it running. Thanks for any advice
