Okay get comfy this is a bit of a long read but Ill make it short as I can.
Okay so my sister owns a 68 mustang. She loves the car so very much (so she says) but she puts very little money into it to keep it on the road let alone reliable. In my mind if you own a classic expect it to drain your wallet for a bit till you get it to a point that you just maintain it.
Shea owned the car for about 6 maybe 7 years. She has only upgraded the suspension, bought tires, changed to a regular 4bbl (junked the 2bbl), bought shortys with 40s out the back, a stereo and primered half the body. Out of that stuff my parents had to buy the 4bbl swap, suspension, and exhaust (I gave her my old 40s).
The reason why she has not paid for this stuff herself is because in her mind it didnt need to be fixed :clonk:. She spent her money on clothes concerts eatting out etc etc. But after it was all done she said Im glad "I" changed it. Oh and let me clear on thing up. . . I personally have done all the work with the help of my dad on somethings. She has no want or desier to learn about her car how to work on it nothing. All she wants to do and I QUOTE! "I just want to put gas and go. Not even that if I can help it."
Whatever tho right? I mean not many girls want to know how to turn a wrench on a car. More power to the girls that do tho!
Her car has been halfway primered for over 2yrs now. The suspension is worn out again because off the shelf brands were used from some shop. The weatherstripping has been falling apart since she bought it and now the steating box is shot. I hate mustangs but this poor ford needs a LOT of love and its not getting it.
She was recently in a lawsuit that we arent allowed to talk aobut due to settleing out of court. But she got $18,500 out of it and is blowing it on stupid CRAP!
Not to get side tracked but for the past year I have been working I have given half if not all of my pay check to the house to help out with bills food needs etc. she on the other hand bitches about why we dont have this or that. HELLO!!!!! Money is tight everyone but her knows that! Shes 24 and still has my mom make her food wash her clothes wash her car and know my mom is learning to check fluids on HER POS MUSTANG!!! She doesnt do anything around the house aside from once in awhile empty the cat boxes and put away dishes. Im not trying to say I do way more then here and Im better then her but when you look at it. . .I am! Ive personally paid morgage twice Ive paid the car bill 5 times Ive brought my dads work trouck back to life countless times and I have still had time and money to rebuild my car! So wahts her excuss? I quote again "I dont have time and my job doesnt pay much"
Anyways back to her car. Like I said she got $18,500 from a lwasuit. She helped out with about 2,000 worth of things around the house. shes bought idk how much for herself (just think of 3 trips back to the car to get it all from one shopping spree). I had asked her for just $250 so that I can buy tires and finally get my car back on the road. Shes say and I quote AGAIN "If I can afford it ya maybe." That was over a week ago. she today gave me $200 which Im going to pay her back asap just so I dont owe the BI... my sister any money.
So now she is down idk how much money but she wants to fix the bad steering on her car and paint it thats it. She doesnt want to buy weatherstripping, new dizzy hers misses due to points, fix reverse lights (they never worked), new raidiator (hers leaks), fix driver window crank (it pops off the track), convert to brighter H4 bulbs (she hates how dim her headlights are and yes I did the relays to brighten them up). And my most favorite thing she is NOT going to fix is the trans! It slips in and out of gear!
She has no idea that here car is in need of so much its better of to sell it. She doesnt want to put money into it because. . . heres another quote "its just a car all it needs to do is get me from point a to point b." I said to her waht about back to point a? She got mad and left the room.
I know im being an a-hole about this but its a classic car its over 40yrs old it needs help so help it. Ive rebuilt 95% of my elky in 3yrs. All of it with my own money. Yes my parents has bought stuff for my car when it needs it and I cant afford it. But I have ALWAYS paid them back in full ALWAYS!
Trust me I know im being an a-hole here but be in my shoes and listen to be complain everyday about the same exact things. she has the ability to fix problems and get past things but its almost like she finds them and keeps them around. She is the saying "missery loves company"
So in ending my sister is very greedy, onws a car she wont have much longer due to lack of TLC, and is very lazy.
