I believe he's just tired of every Tom, Dick, and Harry calling him and asking silly questions. I think it got way worse with the cell phones now having "unlimited long distance calling". Guys call on something because they are bored and hey "why not, even if it's not something they really have interest in. Why not, got nothing better to do, free call, sitting around bored,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
He could have worded it better, like I have seen "If you have to ask your wife's permission or don't really have the money, don't bother calling". If you're really a buyer, you go right past that and call, and if it's what it's supposed to be, you buy it.
