How to tell if #'s on alt and dist are original or restamps

Hi I need the correct 437 dist and 837 alt.How can i tell if they are original or restamps.I saw an 437 dist at the maryland chevelle show this weekend for what seemed like a decent price.Thanks in advance

Roll stamping is what is distinctive on both of these.
The 4 on the 437 Distributor is usually what gives it away.The restamps use the wrong design.
The 837 Alt. was roll stamped as well. The restamps usuallly are head on and look it.
What is the Tonawanda date on your engine? I have a few of these parts with different dates for sale.
What kind of price did you see on the Distributor at the swap?
