OK Guys,

I have a one car garage (limited space) and I would like to pull the motor and trans on my 72 so I can have time to clean up the engine compartment, put in my new inner fenders and touch up the frame and firewall Before I take it to the shop for my new motor and trans TH 400 and a 454BB.

My question, Should we pull the motor and Trans together or seperate (400SB and th350)?

Any suggestions and or comments on this matter?

Thanks guys

Personal choice. I like to pull them out as a pair. Just make sure to stick a spare yoke in the tailshaft of your tranny, or you'll be doing some mopping up.

It helps to have a friend help guide it out too, so you don't wind up smoking the windshield or other surfaces with the tailshaft.

Nice looking and sounding ride.

i always pull sbc's and any tranny together, iv'e never found a reason not to.

Agreed.
As stated before. Plug the tail shaft on the trans and take your time.

I've had my motor out 4 times now,and I found it was easier to take the tranny off.

if you are taking the old motor out yourself, then why are you paying someone else to put a big block back in? it's a simple matter to change the mounts and drop the big block in- a big block is a lot like a small block, just bigger.
