Hey guys just building a 454 2 bolt for my boat and its just a MarkIV block 30 over im running 049 heads and think the chambers are 122cc but iv heard diff aswell... and i just got a good deal on speed pro hypereutectic pistons 693CP +210 dome, just trying too calculate my compression and also wondering how thin of a head gasket can i run i saw some as small as 038 compressed, would it be ok too run that head gasket trying too bump my comp up alittle i think i will be close too 9 with this set up our is there a better head gasket?? i just saw that the LS6 ran a steel 020 compressed gasket aswell??..the cam i am running is comp XE284H just a hydraulic cam.. just trying too build a mild bbc nothing crazy also what heat range of spark plug would be good for this application...motor was prety stock when i bought boat, and it had a tunnel ram with 2 edelbrock 600s im thinking of switching carbs going classic predators just for the nostalgia look its a classic 1974 Sanger v-drive...
