i am trying to wire up a dui distributor in the place of the old points style distributor. i need a keyed 12v wire, i am gonna run a 10 gauge wire from the fuse box. i currently am using the ign lug to power gauges. there is a lug just above the ign lug which is a keyed 12v source. It is marked acc there is currently a wire plugged into this i have no idea where it goes. i unplugged it and could not tell what went off or if anything did. does any one know what this feeds, or if it would hurt to unplug or pigtail off it for the hei distributor?

I don't know what a dui is but if it's like a HEI, the ACC terminal won't have power during starter cranking so you would need to leave the yellow bypass wire connected to the distributor's BAT terminal along with that power wire for it to start and run.
You can use the IGN terminal without the old bypass wire but if you use either one, you need to carry spare fuses with you because they are fused.
