Ok I have a 3" x pipe from pypes that I am about to install and 2 1/2" mandrel bent flowtech tail pipes that are already on the car. Going to replace the muffles (which I have know idea what they are other than being 14" cases and 3" in and 3" out and I love them:thumbsup:).
The problem is do I buy 2 1/2" mufflers and get the 3" pipe reduced to fit or do I buy 3" mufflers and put a reducer on the other side of the muffler for the tail pipes?
Thinking of going with the Dynomax super turbo's.

thanks for any help.

BTW tried a search and did not find what I was looking for as far as the 3' to 2 1/2" thing goes.

I'd go with the 3" mufflers, you won't lose flow that way.

DITTO. The mufflers are usually going to be the most restrictive thing in the exhaust, or atleast they have the potential to be anyway. Especially if you aren't using one of the muffs which don't use a perforated pipe running through the center of the case with wadding wrapped around it for sound deadening instead of using baffles. Most mufflers with baffles restrict exhaust flow atleast to a certain degree.

So I'd go with the 3" inlet/outlets on the muffs if I were you, along with a reducer for the tailpipes. Plain pipes are less restrictive than most mufflers are even when they bend over the axle tubes.
