O.k., going to tame my ride down a tad and would love you thoughts on a new combo.

Going to build what will look like a STOCK 396/350 that will run bottom 12.0s. So, a few things I am going to have to live with:

- Exhaust manifolds.
- Qjet
- cast iron Qjet intake
- 2.5'' exhaust.

*I am gonna keep my ported 049`s and 10-5 compression.

Other possible mods to keep it ''fun'' include:

- M20 4 speed.
- swap out 4.10s for 3.55s

So, here are a few Qs for you:

- Cam choice? I was thinking perhaps a HR 288 from comp or the »Voodoo 282HR?
- Qjet: Any suggestions? SMI? CFM?
- Thoughts on Intake & Exhaust manifold porting?

Let's hear from you!!!!!

Chris,

You could always look into a stroker kit, which depending upon your bore, could give you somewhere in the area of 434-440ci, which would help your torque #s. Basically, a 454 crank, KB Pistons ( the p/n escapes me ), a 454 flywheel and I think a new balancer.

Your block may need some slight clearancing, but I believe it's a pretty straightforward deal.

I'm assuming you're going to want the more docile idle, too, so as not to give it away, ie: sleeper. If so, probably going to need the stroker like mentioned with stock intake, exhaust and the gears you're thinking about.

I think I would go with a cam on a 112 0r 114 LSA to keep the idle reasonable.

I think in so far as cam I may be better getting a custom grind to address the exhaust manifolds...what do you think?
