I posted this in perf but nobody replied and I need to order something this week.

My car is a '72 402 4 spd with the AC box. Engine is expected to be around 400-450. I am planning on 1 3/4" long tubes. I have been looking at the Hooker comps, Dynomax, and Heddman which are all about $150 uncoated (I'll have them coated after break-in). I know most of you are prob running the Hookers so I hope i hear from a couple people with the Dynomax or Hedman's. I am open to any other suggestions. If it comes down to it I would choose fit over perf.
Thanks in advance
Chris

The last set of headers that I got were for one of my son's cars, 71 BB.
There were Dynomax ceramic coated, got them from Summit.
Relatively easy to install, WITHOUT raising the engine, plus the car has air and pwr steering. Clearance is as good as you could ask for in any car with a BB.
I've installed Dynomax in other cars and have been pleased with them.

Tom,
Thanks for the info. I was leaning towards the dmx's.

Can you get the USED headers coated after exhaust has been run through them? Part of the attraction and 1/2 of the function of ceramic coating is that it's done inside and out.

I would think cleaning each tube out thoroughly would be a royal PITA?

Not a problem. We make Corvette headers and our ceramic guy picks up headers used and new on a weekly basis. They have to be sandblasted either way. ps, I like your sig
