Hello - completely new to the engines so please bear with me. My mechanic currently rebuilt my 454 motor over these past 3 weeks. I placed the ProComp Alum heads on (if they suck, I'll change them), but am hearing some people say they are too big for my setup. 115cc/300cc oval. I'm wondering if I can get some opinions on the 'too big' part?? Are they referring of the heads to the cam??? Comp Xtreme cam..230/236 @ .050, 110 LSA, .51/.51 lift, MSD EFI system including MSD pro billet dist, coil, ignition, etc... I was kind of limited on cam choice with the EFI. The current tranny (TH350) is shot (2000 stall), but TKO600 going in next week. Also currently have 3:08 gears, and 3:73 going in with the new tranny. I'm not wanting to go 200 mph, just want quick off the line. Just feels like a turd for what I was expecting...sounds great:D!! Hopefully be a new car with the manual tranny, and different gears. Thanks in advance for your thoughts!!! This is a weekend cruiser, possibly a time or two at the track once we get this worked out.

300cc may be a bit big but the biggest problem is procomp. Sell them and get a good american bidget head. Brodix race rite, trick flow, or even some jegs heads.imo

The intake runner is a little large for the engine displacement. This can cause low velocity in the intake port resulting in lack luster low end torque. Something in the 270cc range is a better fit for your combo.
