So I am new to the Chevy world; I have been working on VWs. For my first engine I got a '71 402 that I plan to run in a '68 SS Clone. How close to the '68 396 can I get this engine to look? Can I/Should I run '68 brackets for the alternator and everything? Also...
What gets orange paint for a stock '68 396? Heads and Block for sure but what about Intake Manifold,water pump, harmonic balancer?
Also... I was told that stock chrome '68 BB valve covers only have one hole each. Where can I find repros that are correct?
Finally... What would I need to replace to turn this '71 lowered decomp. 402 to match the 1970 402/375hp L78's performance?
