going to track 1st time w/ZZ383

Going to the 1/8 mile track tnext weekend. Never been before.
Can you guys give me some advice as to what RPM to shift.
I have a ZZ383 with about 800 miles on it.
TKO 600,
331 12 bolt posi,
in a 66 Chevelle.

I would start low, say around 5300-5500, get the launch down and car tuning close. When you get consistant start rasing the shift points by around 250rpm.

Shift at around 5800-6000.

You don't think I will hurt anything runnning up to 6000 RPM on this fresh (700-800 milage) ZZ 383?

side step the clutch at 6000 and shift it when it starts to float the valves!!!
