OK I want to run a xbox 360 connection for xbox live, but i dont have a long enough ethernet cable to go to my modem. My laptop is connected up wireless in the same room as the TV, So I thought I would just run the ethernet cable to the port on the laptop. I Enabled it in device manager and thats as far as I got, cant get it to work. (windows vista)

The xbox says the cable is connected but no IP address. But Im sure my network just isnt running through the ethernet port. How do I like "send" the internet connection through the port?

I just tried it up directly to my moden/router. Had the same problem. But I fixed it - it was the setting on the xbox. DOH!.

Ill try it back on the laptop and see if it will work good.
