My youngest son has always shown a mechanical aptitude. For the past two years he has worked that the local John Deere dealership. Recent he was promoted to technician status.
He is also attending a Technical College in Manhattan, KS studying Automotive Technology. For a guy that with my help rebuilt the engine in his Chevelle, installed/setup a new ring and pinion as well as host of many other projects on many different vehicles found the first semester pretty boring.
We replaced the front u-joints on his Dodge Ram. After lowering it off of the axle stands he thanked me for my help and said. "Thanks Dad, Things sure go faster when I have someone hand me tools", which is pretty much all I did.
"The torch has been passed"
