Have a mild-ish 383 that per a magazine engine dyno pushed 425 HP and 470 TQ (yes, real world will be different). Car currently has the factory 5/16 fuel line at the tank pickup forward. Looking at going with -6 or -8 AN but wonder if the only affordable pickup option is to use a factory style (which would be 3/8 max.)

Reason I ask is that at some point I may put a turbo on the car and get around 600 HP out of it. If that happens, I would likely need -8 AN system (and maybe even a return line.)

So, back to the pickup... I don't want to do that twice so what other affordable options are there?

How about running the larger line from the stock pick-up for now? You won't have the same capacity as with the larger pick-up but it'll still be much greater than the original line and would be more than plenty for your current set-up. If/when you up the fuel demand a bunch you only have to change the pick-up to get the extra capacity.

btw: 3/8 correlates to -6 and 1/2 would be -8. The "-" sizes are based on 1/16ths, so -10 would be 5/8 (10/16ths, 3/8 would be 6/16ths, etc.)
