I heard that the Elco 70-72 frame is already boxed.. Compared to the Chevelle 70-72 frame...If this is true does anyone know what may be the average cost to put a Elco frame on a Chevelle body? Thanks for the feedback..

The reason why I asked is I hear the frames twist under big power... I will be doing 500hp/500tq...FYI

IF I remember right (remember, haha) the rear of an El Camino frame has to be shortened to use it on a Chevelle.

A convertible frame is also boxed I believe and the correct length already.

My BBC is producing about 550+ hp and I did not bother to Box the Frame on my 67

I Replaced the Stock Factory Parts with the following instead from UMI Perf / Made in the USA ;
Rear Frame Braces and better Rear Control Arms that are much Stronger than the Stock ones

• 1964-1967 GM A-Body Rear Shock Tower Brace - Bolt In - UMI Performance Inc.
• Sway bars Archives - UMI Performance Inc.
• 1964-1967 GM A-Body Control Arm Reinforcements/Frame Braces - UMI Performance Inc.
• Rear Control Arms Archives - UMI Performance Inc.

these for mine = 1964-1967 GM A-Body Tubular Upper & Fully Boxed Premium Lower Rear Control Arms Kit - UMI Performance Inc.
plus New RearEnd Housing Bushings 1965-1972 GM A-Body Polyurethane Rear End Housing Replacement Bushings - UMI Performance Inc.

If you need a good cheap Old School Suspension/Springs, Shocks for the Track
let me know and I can give you the Part #s that I used for the 67
and then you can get the similar ones for your Year of Chevelle
