Hello,
Since i own my 71 el camino with aftermarket rpm tacho i experience intermitted los of rpm readings.
Normally when after cold start the tach works fine. After 20-30minutes the gauge drops and sticks to 1100rpm.
When i turn of the ignition and turn on the ignition it will work for 5 minutes and then it stops again.
Last i thought that when the tach signal wire touches a sparkplugwire the signal goes bad. But now i am 100% sure the wire is not near those cables.
Are there any thumbrules how to run the wire? Is it sensitive to any other cables near the tach signal cable?
